Advancing Excellence in Emergency Ultrasound
The EUS-AAEM Section proudly supports emergency medicine attendings, residents, and medical students with an interest in ultrasound research. Whether you’re exploring a new application, studying outcomes, or developing innovative teaching methods, this grant helps transform your ideas into meaningful impact.
Grant Amount: $5,000 (Funds may be used for research expenses or travel to present findings at the AAEM Scientific Assembly)

- Applicants must be current AAEM members or AAEM/RSA members
- Trainees are strongly encouraged to participate and take the lead in project development; however, every submission must include a faculty mentor who is an AAEM member and listed as the Principal Investigator (PI).

Purpose
We believe research drives progress. The EUS-AAEM Research Grant is designed to:
- To improve emergency medicine care for patients using point-of-care ultrasound.
- To promote point-of-care ultrasound education through involvement in research.
- To foster research interest in young physicians.
Proposal Expectations
Successful proposals will:
- Be relevant to the practice of emergency medicine and point-of-care-ultrasound
- Provides a measurable and reproducible outcome
- Follows best research practices
Selection Process
After submissions close, the EUS-AAEM Research Grant Committee will review all proposals and select one recipient based on:
- Training level
- Innovation and feasibility
- Potential for educational or clinical impact
The awardee will have one year to complete the project and will submit findings through one of the following:
- The AAEM & JEM Resident and Student Research Competition, or
- The YPS-AAEM Research Competition
The final project will be presented at the AAEM Scientific Assembly.
