Biography
Max Hockstein is an assistant professor at Georgetown University and practices both emergency medicine and surgical critical care at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. He earned a bachelor’s degree in pure and applied mathematics and a master’s degree in clinical and translational research. He completed his emergency medicine residency at UT Southwestern/Parkland Hospital, serving as chief resident of education, and went on to a critical care fellowship at Emory University. Boarded in critical care echocardiography, Dr. Hockstein currently serves as research director for the Georgetown University emergency medicine residency program, where he mentors trainees in developing their research interests. His clinical and academic interests include hemodynamics, mechanical circulatory support, and advanced heart failure.
