APPLY NOWJEDI-AAEM is excited to announce our 2025-2026 Medical Student Scholarship, created to expand access and opportunity in the field of emergency medicine (EM). This program aims to support medical students from underserved communities as they take the important step of applying to EM residency programs.
Who Should Apply
This scholarship is open to all medical students applying to emergency medicine residency programs, including combined programs, who have demonstrated resilience, leadership, and a strong commitment to equitable, high-quality care for all patient populations.
Scholarship Benefits
Financial Support: Each recipient will receive a $500 gift card to help offset costs related to:
- Residency application fees
- Interview attire
- Technology for virtual interviews
- Travel for in-person interviews

- Application Deadline: Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11:59pm CT
- Applicant Notification of Awards: Thursday, January 15, 2026

Applicants must be a current member of the AAEM/RSA and JEDI-AAEM Section.

Complete the JEDI-AAEM Medical Student Scholarship application by Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11:59pm CT with the following information:
- Personal Statement (Introducing yourself and sharing why you chose EM):
- Written (250 word limit) or
- Video (1-2 minutes)
- Medical School Transcript (screenshots accepted)
- Curriculum Vitae (highlight any community work or passion projects)
- Copy of STEP 1 and/or STEP 2 Scores
- Photo (optional)
If selected, you may be asked to provide the following for reimbursement and verification:
- Receipts for relevant expenses (e.g., interview attire, tech for virtual interviews)
- Proof of current JEDI-AAEM Section membership
- ERAS submission confirmation for emergency medicine
- Completion of W-9 and submitted to AAEM
