- Time: 12:00pm CT
- Zoom: Zoom
Mass casualty incidents don’t test whether your hospital has a disaster plan. They test whether your people, systems, and training are truly ready.
Drawing on lessons from military medicine, combat casualty care, and real-world disasters, this webinar examines what operational readiness looks like when every second counts. Participants will explore common vulnerabilities in hospital emergency response, learn how military readiness principles can strengthen civilian emergency care, and leave with practical strategies to improve preparedness before the next crisis.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate disaster planning from true operational readiness
- Identify common vulnerabilities in hospital mass casualty response
- Apply military readiness principles to civilian emergency care systems
- Evaluate surge capacity, blood product availability, and communication plans
- Develop practical strategies to improve preparedness within their own institutions
Who Should Attend
This webinar is designed for:
- Emergency Physicians
- EMS professionals
- Nurses
- Trauma Program Leaders
- Hospital Administrators
- Emergency Managers
- Residents and Medical Students
Why This Matters
Mass casualty incidents are increasing in both frequency and complexity. From transportation accidents and natural disasters to active violence, cyberattacks, and large public events, today’s healthcare systems face challenges that require more than a written disaster plan.
Hospitals that perform best during these events share one characteristic: they prepare through realistic training, coordinated systems, and strong interdisciplinary partnerships. Drawing on proven practices from military medicine, this webinar will examine practical approaches to surge capacity, communication, command structure, blood product management, and operational readiness that healthcare organizations can apply immediately.
