How do I register?

Registration for AAEM23 will open in December 2022.

Do I still need to register if I am a member?

Yes, in order to attend Scientific Assembly, AAEM and AAEM/RSA members must register and pay a refundable deposit.

How do I receive my refundable deposit back?

When you check in onsite at the AAEM23 registration desk, you can request to complete a form to have your deposit refunded back to you. If a form is not completed, your refundable deposit will be donated to whichever fund you selected during registration: the Kevin G. Rodgers Fund of LEAD-EM, the AAEM Foundation, or the AAEM PAC.

What is the price of registration?

Member Rates

  • AAEM Members: FREE with a $250 refundable deposit
  • AAEM/RSA Members: FREE with a $125 refundable deposit

Non-Member Rates

  • Physician: $725
  • Resident: $200*
  • Medical Student: $175*

*Residents and students will be automatically registered as AAEM/RSA members for the 2022-2023 membership year (pending eligibility).

What forms of payment are accepted for registration?

AAEM accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, personal checks, or corporate checks. Cash will be accepted onsite.

What do registration fees include?

Registration for AAEM23 includes access to the in-person 29th Scientific Assembly, CME, award presentations, competitions, networking social activities (except where noted), and recorded educational content.

I can no longer attend AAEM23. Can I get a refund?

Refund requests must be submitted in writing at least one month prior to the event. A $50 processing fee will be charged for cancellations. Refunds are processed after the conference. No refunds are granted if cancellation is received less than one month prior to the event. Special considerations will be given for health or family emergencies if requested in writing no later than 15 days after the last day of the conference.

Will Scientific Assembly sessions be live-streamed this year?

AAEM23 sessions will not be live-streamed. Educational content is being recorded and will be available on AAEM Online within a few months after the conference.

How soon after the end of the conference will I be able to access recorded sessions?

Online access to the AAEM23 Annual Scientific Assembly content will be available on AAEM Online after the conference and eligible to claim CME for three years.

May I bring my child to a session or to visit the exhibit hall?

AAEM welcomes and encourages families to travel with conference attendees. Due to the professional educational content and graphic nature of some photos, children are not permitted in the educational sessions or on the exhibit floor or poster gallery.

Will there be a Mother's Room?

We are pleased to offer a private mother’s room for nursing and pumping. The mothers’ room may be reserved in advance for time slots. Visit a staff member at the conference registration desk for more information.

What are the COVID-19 safety protocols in place for this meeting?

During these evolving times, AAEM is committed to continuing to provide a safe and healthy environment for event participants and staff. Participants are expected to adhere to local policies. Refusal to adhere to policies and abide by precautions may result in immediate removal from an AAEM event and cancellation of the registration without receiving a refund.

Am I expected to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend AAEM22 in person?

AAEM23 attendees are expected to be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccines.

Are you offering non-CME programs?

Yes, non-CME commercial presentations and promotional sessions are organized by industry supporters and are designed to enhance your conference experience. Presentations are scheduled during breakfast, lunch, or after educational programming.

Where is the program schedule?

When will abstracts and competitions be posted online?

Submissions for AAEM competitions are now closed and proposals are being evaluated and ranked. While onsite, attendees are welcome to view posters and/or presentations for the Photo, YPS-AAEM Research, AAEM and JEM Resident and Student Research, AAEM/RSA & Western Journal of Emergency Medicine, Open Mic, and AAEM/RSA Resident Breve Dulce Competition.

Submitters will be notified of their acceptance status in February 2023.

How do I know what sessions I'm registered for?

Scientific Assembly keynote, plenary, and concurrent sessions are first-come, first-served and do not require advanced registration. Sessions requiring registration are noted during the registration process and summarized on your conference receipt. Such sessions include pre- and post-conference sessions, small group clinic and some networking/social events.

How do I add or change a session after I've registered?

If you would like to add a pre-conference, post-conference, or adjust the Small Group Clinic session, please log into your AAEM23 conference profile to make changes.

Can I get a copy of my receipt?

How many CME/CE credits are available at the Scientific Assembly?

The American Academy of Emergency Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 19 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. See the full credit designation statement here. CME credits subject to change pending full schedule. 

How do I claim my CME/CE credits?

CME certificates and Certificates of Attendance are available to Scientific Assembly attendees through a self-report system. You can access the self-report system with your members-only log in account to download, save or print your CME certificate or Certificate of Attendance. Please ensure you login to your members-only account and update your email address to ensure receipt of the broadcast email.

Claim CME Onsite
Pre-registered attendees can claim CME credits at Scientific Assembly starting April 22, 2023. Onsite registrants will receive a link via email to claim CME within 30 days after the conference.

Beware of Fraudulent Registration Companies!

AAEM does not add additional fees to the standard registration rate, such as VAT or service fees. Fraudulent companies often use email addresses or websites that contain “AAEM” in them such as AAEM@2023conference.com and info@23aaem.com. Do not reply to these companies. Prevent being the victim of Cybercrime – be suspicious of emails that appear to be coming from AAEM asking for additional payments.
