Scientific Assembly Planning and Committee Input Policy
- Committees also have the opportunity to make recommendations to the Scientific Assembly Planning Subcommittee through the established web-based process whereby any AAEM member can submit a speaker’s name and or suggest a topic/track. Committee Chairs may also directly contact the Scientific Assembly Planning Subcommittee Chairs to make recommendations. These recommendations must be submitted in a timely manner to allow the Scientific Assembly Planning Sub-Committee adequate time to consider and develop such recommendations.
- The Scientific Assembly Planning Subcommittee Track Chairs will contact the pertinent Committee Chairs for input on track/topic development and speaker recommendations. However, the final decision on tracks/topics/speakers lies with the Scientific Assembly Planning Subcommittee and there is no guarantee that Committee recommendations will be implemented.
- The Scientific Assembly Planning Subcommittee has responsibility for planning both pre-conference and Scientific Assembly tracks/topics and the selection of speakers.
- The BOD maintains the overall responsibility for approving the final program for the annual Scientific Assembly based on recommendations from the Education Committee and specifically the Scientific Assembly Planning Subcommittee.
