Course Description

This four hour workshop will review EKGs pertinent to the practice of emergency medicine, including consideration of subtle ischemia and infarct patterns, clinically significant arrhythmias, and a myriad of ED diagnoses that can benefit from the informed consideration of an EKG. The format will include lectures, case presentations, and discussion of interesting unknowns.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:

  1. Outline systematic interpretation of an EKG with attention to important differentials
  2. Identify subtle presentations of ischemia and infarct.
  3. Compare and contrast important abnormal rhythms presenting to the ED.
  4. Evaluate an EKG as one facet of a variety of critical ED presentations.
