A Practical Approach to Opioid Use Disorders (PrAOUD)

Sunday, 22 September 2019
08:00 – 12:30

Course Description

Currently, the opioid epidemic is presenting challenges to providers at all stages of care, including the pre-hospital setting, outpatient clinics, emergency departments, inpatient hospitalizations, and longitudinal care. Health care providers are not always aware of most up-to-date prescribing practices, recognition of and treatments for opioid use disorders, or the emerging opioids of abuse (synthetic fentanyl analogs, for example). The goal of this training is to educate a broad range of healthcare providers on the scope of the opioid epidemic, best prescribing practices, recognition and management of opioid use disorders, and new illicit opioids.
