Nominations for the 2022-2023 CAL/AAEM Board of Directors election are open!

Serving on the Board of Directors gives you the opportunity to gain valuable leadership experience and make a difference in your local region.

The CAL/AAEM Board of Directors is comprised of six (6) individual directors, one (1) Associate Representative, three (3) Resident Representatives, and one (1) Student Representative in addition to the principal officers of Chapter Division. The principal officers of Chapter Division are the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Immediate Past-President.

Board of Director Responsibilities: 

Vice-President

The Vice-President shall perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President. The Vice-President will also address any emergency medicine and other CAL/AAEM issues to the Board of Directors. They will participate in various CAL/AAEM councils and attend monthly board meetings via Zoom.

Upon the expiration of the term of office of the Vice-President, the individual serving in such office shall automatically succeed to the office of President.

Secretary

The secretary Addresses emergency medicine and other CAL/AAEM issues to the Board of Directors. Participates in various CAL/AAEM councils and attends monthly board meetings via Zoom. They will also coordinate with the Treasurer of AAEM matters pertaining to the charge and custody of funds and securities pertaining to the activities and mission of Chapter Division; and see that all notices are duly given.

Treasurer

The treasurer coordinates with the Secretary of CAL/AAEM matters pertaining to the charge and custody of funds and securities pertaining to the activities and mission of Chapter Division. Addresses emergency medicine and other CAL/AAEM issues to the Board of Directors. Participates in various CAL/AAEM councils and attends monthly board meetings via Zoom.

At-Large Director

Addresses emergency medicine and other CAL/AAEM issues to the Board of Directors. Participates in various CAL/AAEM councils and attends monthly board meetings via Zoom.

Associate Representative

Addresses emergency medicine and other CAL/AAEM issues to the Board of Directors. Participates in various CAL/AAEM councils and attends monthly board meetings via Zoom.

Resident Representative

Addresses CAL/AAEM Resident Member and other emergency medicine issues to the Board of Directors.

Student Representative

Addresses CAL/AAEM Student Member and other emergency medicine issues to the Board of Directors.

Who can submit nominations:

Full voting members can submit nominations for the officers and at-large positions, while AAEM/RSA members can submit nominations for the Resident and Student Representatives.

Self-nominations are allowed and encouraged!
