We are headed to Baton Rouge and the Louisiana State Capitol for a day of state-level, hands-on learning!
Whether you are new to advocacy efforts or a veteran in speaking with legislators, the Health Policy in Emergency Medicine (HPEM) Symposium will provide an unrivaled experience in activism. Network and engage with Louisiana state legislators in a day of experiential learning about grassroots advocacy and how to get things done! Get an introduction to the advocacy process and take part in mock legislative meetings with staffers. Learn about current topics of importance to AAEM and AAEM/RSA, as well as the legislation you need to know about coming up in your state.
No prior hill experience is necessary.

Medical students, are you ready for some competition? Get ready to put your ultrasound skills and team work to the test!
In this competition, five teams will embark on a journey of five simulated patient scenarios with live patient models. Each scenario will be based on a chief complaint and you will use ultrasound to solve the case. The winners will receive free AAEM/RSA and EUS-AAEM swag as an award.
Limited ultrasound skills? No problem EUS-AAEM has you covered! Registered teams will receive how-to ultrasound videos prior to the competition.
Do you think you can solve the case? Register your team today! There is no cost to participate.
We are seeking 12 adults to be model patients during 5 hands-on ultrasound workshops at AAEM23! The ultrasound models allow these live courses to provide hands-on ultrasound skill training for physicians to learn the basics, understand scan proficiency, and cover focused medical scans of vascular, abdominal, echocardiography (heart), and musculoskeletal (leg/arm) areas.
This opportunity is a rewarding benefit for college or medical students interested in the medical field (future physicians, medical assistants, nurses, physical therapists, and/or other medical specialties) to learn about the human body, earn easy extra cash, and network with physicians from throughout the globe.

Between medical school duties, studying for Step exams, and maybe a little self-care, it’s difficult to find time to network and get to know a specialty! The AAEM Scientific Assembly is the perfect way to incorporate networking, mentorship, and a deep-dive into emergency medicine and we want YOU to play an integral role!
Join us in New Orleans, LA for the 29th Annual Scientific Assembly, April 21-25, 2023 and discover all that emergency medicine has to offer as a Medical Student Ambassador. Ambassadors are key players during the conference, acting as “knowledge-hubs” and collectors of invaluable evaluation feedback from attendees.
