27th Annual Scientific Assembly

Date Changed to June 20-24, 2021

Dear AAEM Member,

As you know, AAEM’s educational offerings are the best in emergency medicine! We know you not only rely on us for CME, but value the opportunity to interact with our distinguished speakers and network with your fellow attendees and colleagues from around the world.

To try to make sure you can do just that in 2021, the AAEM Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to move the 2021 Scientific Assembly from March to June 20-24, 2021. We feel moving the date in 2021 will more likely allow us to meet in-person. While we understand that June is a difficult month for the academic faculty, we are in a situation where all conferences are being moved to the latter part of 2021, and we were unable to negotiate alternative dates with the hotel. Our hope is that with sufficient advance notice, our academic faculty can arrange schedules and graduations to allow for attendance at AAEM21.

We have been working closely with the St. Louis Union Station Hotel and they are looking forward to hosting in a time and place that will be a safe, accessible, and highly productive experience for us all. This decision gives us the flexibility to better evaluate our members’ needs, concerns, and priorities, and ultimately deliver the quality Scientific Assembly you have come to expect. In a world where nothing has been what we expected, we hope this date shift will provide you with the opportunity for some normalcy.

Thank you for all you do for the Academy to support our mission and to assure we have the best ever Scientific Assembly in 2021.

President, American Academy of Emergency Medicine
