AAEM Washington Update

The Senate agreed to an amendment to use $900 million in the FY 2003 omnibus spending bill to prevent a 4.4% cut in Medicare payments to physicians. If the House agrees to this action during the Conference to be held to iron out the differences between the senate and House bills, the physician payment reduction schedule to take effect March 1 will not occur.
