EmCare approached me about working at Methodist hospital. I snooped about, and declined.
I trained with one of EPPA's principals, and heard their inside story. Such events are often convoluted, and there is a California connection.
Their (transient) ED director for EmCare was a CAL/ACEP board member appointed (not elected) by XXXX to represent rural emergency medicine. I know Dr. XXXX from working in the same ED.
I am pleased that AAEM took the field, and I appreciate the different roles which ACEP and AAEM play in the politics of our specialty.
EmCare was reportedly offering $400/hr for physicians by mid-January, a rate clearly not supportable by collections.
