AAEM Files Suit against Methodist Hospital

To AAEM members,

Your are likely aware that AAEM had petitioned the Attorney General of MN and the Medical Board of MN to examine what we believe is the creation of an arrangement between Methodist Hospital and EmCare, Inc. that violates the MN prohibitions on the corporate practice of Medicine. In the face of inaction by these parties, the Academy along with EPPA, a physician owned group displaced by this arrangement, filed suit against Methodist Hospital, EmCare Holdings, Inc, and Minnesota EM-I Medical Services, P.C. on 12/27/2004. We have provided a link to a pdf of the suit.

AAEM will soon be seeking your support of such efforts through the AAEM Foundation. Further updates on this matter will be provided at the Scientific Assembly 2/17-19 in San Diego.
