The expectation is that by enhancing knowledge, there will be translation to clinical practice, leading to better patient care.
Learning Objectives
The overall objective is the advancement of international emergency medical services and education. Other learning objectives:
- Apply principles learned to managing life-threatening problems in the emergency department.
- Formulate an effective treatment plan to handle common physical complaints in the ED, based on current research data and faculty expertise.
- Apply principles learned to preparing for and managing disasters.
- Distinguish between effective and ineffective methods for teaching adult learners and disseminating information in a manner that will lead to increased understanding, recall and application to future situations in the patient care setting.
- Organize, develop, and implement tools to advance research and evidence based protocols in emergency medicine.
Target Audience
This CME activity is designed for board certified/prepared/eligible emergency physicians and nurses who seek didactic education in emergency medicine and an opportunity to exchange information with international colleagues.
