Board of Directors

The AAEM board of directors is currently made up of five officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, Past-President, and Past Presidents Council Representative), nine board members including the Young Physician Section (YPS) director, and the AAEM/RSA president. The officers are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the association, and can be elected to serve a maximum of two consecutive 2-year terms. The board members are responsible for the direction of AAEM and long-term planning. They can be elected to a maximum of three consecutive 2-year terms. The YPS director position is a one-year term..

Elections for all open positions are held in conjunction with AAEM's Annual Scientific Assembly, with ballots being mailed in an issue of Common Sense. All attendees for Scientific Assembly are encouraged to attend the Candidates Forum. The final vote tallies and results are announced at the Scientific Assembly.
