Board of Directors

AAEM's Board of Directors is currently made up of five officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, Past-President, and Past Presidents Council Representative), nine board members, and one resident representative, all popularly-elected by the voting membership. The officers are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the association, and can be elected to serve a maximum of two consecutive 2-year terms. The board members are responsible for the direction of AAEM and long-term planning. They can be elected to a maximum of two consecutive 3-year terms, which are staggered so that three board positions are up for election each year.

Elections for all open positions are held in conjunction with AAEM's annual Scientific Assembly, with ballots being mailed to the voting membership with the dues mailing in November and final vote tallies and results announced at the conference in February.
